Notes

Notes
01/20/2016 10:15 AM Jeanne McNamara Accomplishments:
• Road Decommissioning and upgrading in Angora/Twin Peaks Transportationshed Environment Assessment Completed 2010
• Boulder Mountain Drive – jurisdiction was transferred to El Dorado County, decommissioned from the FS system (.25 miles). The transfer of Boulder Mountain Road has enabled the county to invest in BMP’s upon that road. Previous to the transfer, the ownership of the road was uncertain and neither the Forest Service nor the county could invest in water quality protection.
• Gates were installed on NFSR 1303, 12N07, and Forest Mountain Road to control access to prevent rutting and erosion during the wet season.
• Bridge Tract road NFSR 1111 was rerouted away from South Upper Truckee for approximately .25 miles. (decommission .25 mi, BMP upgrades .25 mi)
• Rainbow Tract road NFSR 12N07 – installed BMPs along entire length of road (1.5 mi).
• Mule Deer road – raised road bed and installed drainage features (.25 miles)
• The following roads were converted to trails: 12N20C (.7 miles), Tahoe Mountain Area (.8 miles)- (total of 1.5 miles of road decommissioned and converted to BMP’ed trails)
• Decommissioned unauthorized roads: Panther Street (.25 miles), Spring Tract (.5 miles), Taylor Creek (.5 miles), Seneca Pond Area (.8 miles)
• Decommissioning of Tahoe Mountain Road (North Side) (0.8 miles)

Totals:
Road Decommissioning – 4.9 miles
Gates installed – 3
Road BMPs installed – 2 miles
Road to trail conversions – 1.5 miles
Completed the Road Decommissioning and Upgrade – Angora/Twin Peaks Transportationshed EA

Project planning started in 2006. Due to the Angora Fire and subsequent NEPA planning considerations, the project accomplishments were delayed until 2012.
