Basics
The South Tahoe Environmental Education Coalition (STEEC) is a network of more than 20 local agencies and organizations that collaborate to bring environmental education resources to the Tahoe Basin. As stated in our mission and goals, STEEC is “dedicated to bringing high quality environmental education programs and projects to Lake Tahoe youth.” STEEC has created and implemented new programs for Lake Tahoe Unified School District (LTUSD) schools, reaching thousands of students each year.

- Earth Day Programing - 1465 students served
- Safe Routes to School – 60 students served
- AIS Elevated Field Trip w/ TRPA + League – 40 students + 10 adults served
- Lake Tahoe West Reading Forest field trip – 20 students + 10 adults served
01/13/2021 3:25 PM Victoria Ortiz All 2020 programs were virtual due to COVID, except for the Heavenly Snowshoe Program, which was also cut short. This year's STEEC programs included:
• Heavenly Snowshoe Program (5th grade) – 215 students served
• Woods Water Wildlife videos on Flipgrid (K-5) – 30 students served
• Earth Day programming – 1572 students (K-5) served + 1580 unique individuals on the Earth Week Activities page on Takecaretahoe.org
• Safe Routes to School videos (K-adult) – 3029 people reached according to vimeo and social media metrics
