The project scope includes to components: 1. The Meeks Bay Trail project includes construction of a 0.7 mile paved, shared use path between the Meeks Bay Resort and Sugar Pine Resort. 75% of the project includes retaining walls and also includes a new bridge. The new bridge and retaining walls will be constructed with GRS-IBS foundations to save costs, construction time, and impacts. 2. Construction of bike paths, sidewalk, curb and gutter in Tahoe City as part of the Truckee River Bridge Project.

09/17/2019 5:09 PM Beth Vollmer Meeks bay bike path has been completed. The bike path links two activity centers on the west shore of Lake Tahoe: Sugar Pine Point State Park and Meeks Bay Resort. Construction included a 10 foot wide, asphalt paved path with sculpted concrete faced GRS retaining walls and a 65 foot prefabricated geosynthetic reinforced soil-integrated bridge system, which is part of the The Federal Highway Administration's "Every Day Counts" initiatives.
01/20/2015 1:25 PM Derek Kirkland Federal Lands Access Program funds awarded to construct the Project 2015, with Construction start date of 2016. Current construction estimate is higher than secured funds. TTD seeking additional funds for construction 2016. Central Federal Lands Highway Division of FHWA will be construction lead for the Project in partnership with TTD.
