Overview

Basics

Basics
Restore function of SEZs draining throuhg the South "Y"/Tahoe Valley area to improve water quality, control soil erosion, and enhance wildlife habitat and vegetation. Natural stream channels and SEZs have been segmented and channelized. Reconstruction, restoration, or enhancement of historic stream channels and SEZs, taking into account existing development, is a primary project objective. Vegetated SEZs can filter and infiltrate frequent runoff events, providing habitat and water quality benefits. In October 2015 this project was combined with the Tahoe Valley Stormwater Improvement Project (01.01.01.0012).
