Basics
Heavenly’s Epic Discovery Activities are a set of non-skiing and snowboarding recreational activities and facilities located at Heavenly Mountain Resort. They are designed around elements of the natural environment and are intended to engage visitors with the National Forest. An important objective of Epic Discovery is to diversify summer and year-round recreation activities pursuant to the Summer Activities Recreational Opportunities Enhancement Act of 2011 by engaging a larger segment of summer and non-skiing/riding visitors seeking more managed recreation opportunities.

Notes

Notes
01/17/2019 2:16 PM Beth Vollmer 2018 project work included improving the trails/paths network around Tamarack Lodge. A landscape outfit was hired to build wide walking paths utilizing a “STALOK” surface treatment on the newly built paths. In addition, money was spent rebuilding the mountain coaster which we agreed was already captured when it was originally built in 2016.
01/04/2018 10:45 AM Matt Driscoll 2017 project work included adding large-diameter shade umbrellas for the line queues, installing additional way-finding signage, trail building with the Forest Service, creating the Epic Discovery Center, adding a seasonal kids tubing lift and short, walk-up lane and landscaping the meadow area in the center of the activities.
02/03/2017 2:43 PM Matt Driscoll 2016 included overall Epic Discovery facility improvements and the creation of the Mountain Coaster.
