Annual Street and Road Operations and Maintenance within the Lake Tahoe Basin of Placer County. Includes all on-going, recurring costs for operations and maintenance of roadways. Annual operations and maintenance costs must be tracked as part of the Regional Transportation Plan Update. The County maintains 110 miles within the Tahoe Basin. Maintenance tasks include cleaning roadside ditches and drainage inlets, seasonal road sweeping, pavement surface restoration, winter snow removal, application of vehicle traction abrasives, and removal of roadside vegetation.

01/06/2026 9:41 AM Tim Boyer Placer County overlaid several roads along the West Shore of Tahoe with hot mix asphalt including Holly, Alpine Way, & Granlibaken Rd. Total road miles swept in 2025 = 401 (includes multiple passes on same roads in certain zones). Total sand/material reclaimed in 2025 = 702 tons. Total sand applied in 2025 = 691 tons.
