Basics
Placer County annually performs operations & maintenance of stormwater treatment facilities within the Tahoe Basin. The scope of work includes vacuum sweeping of road surfaces; vactor removal of sediment/debris from drainage inlets, sediment cans, roadside swales/ditches, & retention/detention basins; & filter changeouts & sediment removal from advanced jellyfish treatment units. Additional work includes engineering & management support of the Lake Tahoe Clarity Model reporting, IMP, SWQIC, PLRM, and NPDES load reduction mandate under the Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board.

01/05/2026 2:16 PM Tim Boyer 2024 & 2025 Jellyfish advanced treatment units were maintained in Kings Beach & Lake Forest. Work included changeout of filters & removal of sediment from vaults, & yearly inspection of facilities. Additional inspections & maintenance of EIP erosion control basins & drainages were conducted. Total road miles swept = 401 (includes multiple passes on same roads in certain zones). Total sand/material reclaimed = 702 tons, Total sand applied = 691 tons
