Overview

Basics

Basics
Conditions in the Marina indicate that an integrated management plan is needed at this site. Preliminary data from the Ski Run Marina AIS Plant Control Project- Laminar Flow Aeration (01.03.01.0026) indicates that this may be a useful tool for reducing aquatic invasive plants. Aquatic invasive plant control planning will pursue the use of integrated methods to address the infestation in the Marina and in Ski Run Channel (01.03.01.0013).

Threshold Categories

  • Removal of AIS will contribute to improved fish habitat within Lake Tahoe for native fish and reduce habitat for invasive fish which prey on native fish and disrupt the natural food chain.
  • This project will improve water quality by removing aquatic invasive plants, a known contributor to decreased lake clarity.

01/26/2023 10:38 AM Dennis Zabaglo Planning for treatment continues to occur with program partners. Treatments will complement the Laminar Flow Aeration system. In 2022, expenditures covered site visits to assess existing plant conditions, water levels, and light transmissivity, the later information needed to understand future UV light implementation.
