Overview

Basics

Basics
Although outside of the basin, this project would provide operational support and necessary equipment lease agreements to operate and maintain extended rail infrastructure from the Capital Corridor to Reno. The Corridor includes connections from Sacramento to Truckee and on to Reno, where many of Tahoe visitors start their trip. Arriving by rail and connecting to regional buses is a part of the future vision to expand travel options. This project is supported by the Bi-State Consultation on Transportation, who provided valuable guidance and input on the 2018 California State Rail Plan.
