Overview

Basics

Basics
Although recreation is one of nine TRPA thresholds, it has not seen much engagement from the scientific community at Lake Tahoe. The Tahoe Science Advisory Council (TSAC) will work with Tahoe Basin agencies and the EIP Sustainable Recreation Working Group to address scientific issues and questions that arise during development of sustainable recreation management plans and practices. These efforts will initially focus on developing the conceptual frameworks needed to understand linkages between recreational activities and the environmental, social and economic factors that drive changes in conditions at Tahoe, using the Driver-Linkage-Outcome approach.

12/15/2022 2:17 PM Robert Larsen Previously referenced SNPLMA monies materialized at LTBMU and are now under contract with TRPA. DRI and PSW are leading the effort to:

1. Understand Recreation and Visitation Pattern Change
2. Develop a conceptual model for recreational experience quality and public access in Tahoe Basin. and
3. Evaluate existing monitoring frameworks and develop regional monitoring recommendations.
