Overview

Basics

Basics
The project will: 1. Evaluate metrics and potential monitoring designs to identify key metrics of interest and existing, planned, and past basin-wide monitoring efforts. 2. Identify potential historical and existing monitoring sites to be considered for representing conditions of interest across the basin. 3. Use existing information to evaluate the best suite of sites to represent current and expected future change across the basin to meet intensive and extensive monitoring objectives. 4. Test and refine recommendations, focusing on methods directed at fire risk, water availability, forest drought stress, aquatic ecology, and biodiversity.

Threshold Categories

  • This project evaluates impacts on fisheries and habitat conditions from landscape scale alterations in basin forests.
  • Project includes modeling of forest thinning effects on meadow hydrology and soil erosion impacts from forest roads.
  • Project includes evaluation of fire behavior in riparian stands and effects of climate and landscape scale changes on prescribed burns, as well as monitoring and model validation for forest health treatments.
  • This project evaluates impacts on nearshore and pelagic lake conditions from landscape scale alterations in basin forests.
  • Project includes evaluation of forest treatment effects on wildlife
