This project supported the on-going outreach and engagement elements of the shoreline planning process which were essential to ensuring broad support and the successful implementation of new shoreline policies for the Tahoe Basin. These outreach elements included holding public meetings, direct mailing postcards and brochures, and implementing other shoreline mediation and outreach program elements.

12/18/2019 9:31 AM Rebecca Cremeen TRPA engaged stakeholder groups and the public through workshops, hearings, scoping for the EIS, organizational briefings, “Eblasts”, mailers, and a Shoreline Plan website. TRPA released the Public Draft EIS between May 8-July 9, 2018 and subsequently adopted a Final Plan with implementing ordinances in October 2018. TRPA continued to educate the public on the new ordinances and boating regulations using a multi-media approach throughout 2019. The outreach materials and strategies included the following:

Take Care "No Wake Zone" Campaign and Signage
Mailers to property owners on new shoreline regulations
Mediation of key stakeholders to develop the program
Brochures, Shoreline Map, Stickers, Rack Cards, Websites, promotional cards
No Wake Zone TV spot
