Overview

Basics

Basics
Restoration of Saxon Creek targeting the eroding channel, removal of a fish passage barrier, and restoration of three meadows. The watershed above the road is no longer connected to the floodplain due to previous land uses and conifer encroachment. The project includes NEPA and permitting. This restoration project will occur in three phases. Phase 1: Completed 2018. Replacement of aquatic organism passage barrier at Fountain Place Road. Phase 2: Completed 2022, Adapt. Mgmt 2023. Restore 1,000 feet of channel and floodplain upstream and downstream of the bridge installation area. Phase 3: Channel and meadow restoration in three meadows (60 acres total). Anticipated implementation 2026.

Notes

Notes
01/11/2024 4:58 PM Theresa Cody The restoration work for Phase 2 was completed in 2022, however the large winter and spring flow events following construction led to the need for adaptive management work in 2023. The LTBMU completed the adaptive management work in 2023 in-house, and all post-project permit monitoring was also completed. Only the upper meadow restoration work in Phase 3 is remaining.
