Overview

Basics

Basics
This project will restore the ecological function of the impaired reach of the Upper Truckee River lying between the Washoe Meadows golf course and the Tahoe Pines public access. In this reach, streambank erosion impacts the UTR and has destroyed sections of established streamside trails on the east bank upstream of and alongside Lake Baron (which is infested with invasive fish and plant species), and on Forest Service land on the west bank. Restoration activities include re-contouring the vertical-cut streambanks & stabilizing by strategic placement of woody debris and boulders, relocation of streamside trails & creation of low-impact public access, and removal of AIS from Lake Baron.
