Overview

Basics

Basics
Madden Creek Water System (MCWS) has only one groundwater source. The Madden interconnection with Tahoe Swiss Village Water System is insufficient due to limited storage and source capacity, which limits the effectiveness. Interconnection with the McKinney Quail System (MQS) provides sufficient source and storage capacity enhanced fire flows and access to the regional water from the West Lake Tahoe Regional Water Treatment Plant (WLTRWTP). To provide adequate flow to the MCWS, a water main needs to be upsized in the MQS. In addition, interconnecting Tahoe Cedars Water System with the TCPUD MQS will provide access to a redundant water source, additional storage, and access to the WLTRWTP.
