01/12/2023 12:39 PM | Brian Garrett | The LTBMU in partnership with GBI implmeneted 465 acres of mechanical forest thinning and fuels reduction along Pioneer Trail (Montreal WT contract). This project was funded by the LTBMU and Calfire CCI grant awarded to the CTC. The LTBMU also finalized the field layout, marking and cruising on 690 acres that will be advertised as the Al Tahoe contract, which is planned to be awarded and begin implementaiton in 2023.
02/11/2022 7:22 AM | Brian Garrett | South Tahoe Fuels is being implemented through partnership with Great Basin Institute. GBI awarded contract for 465 acres of mechanical thinning, inlcuding 1069 tons of biomass removal. The project was anticiipated to start in the 2021 field season and be completed in the 2022 field season, but Caldor Fire and other factors prevented the project from starting. GBI and the Forest Service conducted additional project layout for future contracts and conducted resource survey work in the project area.
