Overview

Basics

Basics
Previous research has shown a decline in the native deepwater plants and 10 endemic (only found in Tahoe) animals. Research suggests that invasive species have played a role in the decline of the native biology and function of the lake. The project will include a survey of the deepwater plants communities, a pilot project to exclude invasive species near deepwater plants, restore the native communities. The work will also contribute to a better understanding of the functional role of the native communities to lake clarity and the impacts of invasive species.
