Overview

Basics

Basics
The standard Tahoe Sierra Stormwater Resource Plan (SRP) was funded by CA State Water Resource Board (SWB) Prop1 funds. It was mandated by the SWB to elevate the importance of stormwater projects for funding by highlighting the multiple benefits of managing stormwater well, including, water quality improvement, flood reduction, groundwater recharge, habitat restoration or enhancement, and other community benefits. Stormwater projects must be included in the SRP to be eligible for voter approved bond funding. The California Tahoe Conservancy contributed extra funding to enhance the plan for the Tahoe Basin by reviewing and updating the metrics used to score and rank projects.

12/28/2020 9:32 AM Andrea Buxton The Tahoe Sierra Stormwater Resource Plan was completed in 2019. The California State Water Resources Control Board requires, and will likely continue to require, that all stormwater projects seeking voter approved bond funding be included in a list associated with the Plan. Therefore, there is no concrete implementation end date, 2030 is only a placeholder. Implementation of the Plan simply refers to maintaining the list of stormwater projects seeking bond funding. Stormwater projects that complete the Lake Clarity Tracker will automatically be added to the Plan's list.
