Overview

Basics

Basics
This project involves post-fuel treatment sampling of four Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park sites for birds, mammals, ground-dwelling invertebrates, butterflies, and plants. Data will be analyzed to assess the effects of fuel reduction activities on wildlife potential, and the long-term ecological trajectory of forests and wildlife habitat. This project seeks to provide forest managers with rapid feedback on the effectiveness and biotic response of hand and mechanical fuel reduction treatments currently being implemented in the specific forest types found in the lower elevation montane forests in the Lake Tahoe basin.
