Overview

Basics

Basics
The project will reduce scour of the unprotected road shoulders along Sonora Avenue by routing urban runoff to a system of underground storm drain inlets, sediment traps, perforated pipes for infiltration and underground conveyance pipes to the existing treatment wetlands (Osgood/Wildwood basins). All drainage improvements will occur within the existing road right-of-way. This project will provide underground drainage improvements to facilitate above-ground improvements associated with the Ski Run "Mountain to Marina" Green Infrastructure Planning initiative lead by the TRPA (EIP 01.01.01.0192).

Notes

Notes
08/28/2020 9:22 AM Jason Burke These stormwater and drainage improvement concepts were originally evaluated and developed in 1985 as a part of the "Bijou/Wildwood Erosion Control Project", but were not constructed due to opposition to routing the proposed outfall through the Tahoe Meadows private community when what is now the Wildwood basin flow path was still old hotels. Since that time, the Wildwood and Osgood basins were constructed, negating the need to convey water through the Tahoe Meadows private community. The Ruby Way - Overlook Court Drainage and Erosion Control Project (EIP 01.01.01.0095) planning and design identified the need to improve drainage conveyances in this area, as was the case in 1985. This project would also provide underground drainage conveyance solutions in coordination with above-ground innovative green streets concepts concurrently being considered in the Ski Run "Mountain to Marina" Green Infrastructure Planning project (EIP 01.01.04.0086).
