01/04/2023 12:18 PM | Anna Higgins | Crews continued hand thinning and chipping, hand thinning and pile building, and pile burning in 2022. A total of 25 piles on 5 acres was burned in December 2022, 21 acres were hand thinned and chipped, 8 acres were hand thinned and pile built, and 3 acres were logged as part of Phase II of the Spooner Front Country project. The logs from the logging project have been decked and NV State Parks is working on purchasing a portable sawmill and kiln as a demonstration project to utilize wood from fuels reduction projects & turn logs into wood products to use on park improvement projects. |
