Overview

Basics

Basics
The paved bike path was installed through the Z'berg preserve without a guiding maintenance plan. The paved bike path has deteriorated and is no longer safe for bikes. Visitors ride bikes from the paved bike path down the sandy trail and stair access to the General Creek Mouth Beach, resulting in substantial erosion of very sensitive soils - this erosion runs directly into Lake Tahoe. Required components of this project include erosion control, signage, interpretation, bike rack installation, repaving the existing bike path, and installing appropriate BMPs.
