Overview

Basics

Basics
The water system is comprised of watermains ranging from 2 inches to 8 inches in diameter. The system is deficient in fire flows and in the number and spacing of fire hydrants and does not meet current fire codes. The project would install 7,000 linear feet of new 8- and 10-inch diameter watermains to replace the existing less than 6-inch diameter watermains. Fifteen new fire hydrants would be installed that would be accessible from the public right of way. The new upsized watermains would also improve flow capacity of the existing intertie with Incline Village GID which is limited to 200 gpm. Flow and pressure to customers would be improved for those served by the 2-inch backyard mains.

Threshold Categories

  • The project would upsize the watermains, improve system looping and add new fire hydrants to comply with the California Fire Code. The new system looping would also improve fire flow at fire hydrants on Stateline Road that were installed in 2018 for the Tahoe Biltmore Casino properties, Crystal Bay, Nevada.
