01/09/2024 8:38 AM Brian Garrett In 2023, the LTBMU entered into an agreement with the Great Basin Institute to complete NEPA analysis for the Caldor Restoration Project. NEPA will begin in Q1 of 2024 with the goal of having a NEPA decision by the end of 2024 and begin restoration actions in 2025.
01/12/2023 12:06 PM Brian Garrett In 2022, the Forest Service completed the Post-Fire Restoration Framework in Mixed
Conifer Forests in the 2021 Caldor Fire, Eldorado National Forest and the Lake and
Tahoe Basin Management Unit asssesment. This assessment will support long term restoration planning for the Caldor Fire footprint. The LTBMU will begin NEPA planning for Caldor late in 2023, with plans to begin implementation work in 2024. Additionally, $70k was secured to support early invasive plant survey and treatment in areas impacted by fire suppression, specifically dozer lines.
