Basics
To address the complex challenges in collaborative forest management, Vibrant Planet created Land Tender, a cloud based visual scenario-building and decision support application for accelerated forest management planning and disturbance risk mitigation in wildland-connected communities. The Tahoe Stewardship Atlas is a dynamic map of ecologically based landscape segments containing the appraised values and risks of assets and resources located within these segments, as well as the estimated return on investment from forest treatment projects. With the California Tahoe Conservancy and the Tahoe Fund, we generated a comprehensive treatment plan for the entire 205,000-acre Tahoe Basin.

We generated a comprehensive forest treatment plan for the entire 205,000-acre Tahoe Basin. These treatments are designed to optimize community protection and ecosystem resilience in the face of increased fire risk. The plan provides individual, sequenced projects that are packaged together with the appropriate resources required by each project. The plan recommends significant thinning, 1,600 acres of revegetation, 9,000 acres of prescribed fire, and more.
