Notes

Notes
02/13/2024 10:12 AM Dennis Zabaglo New Zealand mudsnails were discovered in the south shore of Lake Tahoe on September 6, 2023. Delineation of the infestation was conducted immediately that included a focused transect near the area of discovery, a grid survey, lakewide transects, and eDNA monitoring. The infestation appears to be limited to the south shore in various densities, from Ski Run Marina to the edge of Pope Marsh with small population in a buoy field off of Camp Richardson. The Tahoe Science Advisory Council formed a Technical Advisory Committee of local and national experts to provide recommendations on monitoring and other actions. There are no known treatment options available, therefore containment and impact monitoring will be the focus of future actions.
Grid survey results and the TSAC Memorandum are included in the "Links" section.
