Notes

Notes
01/11/2023 2:40 PM Judy Weber This proposed project is located on US 50 in El Dorado County from the junction of
Route 89/US 50 to Pioneer Trail. It is funded as a Major Project in the 201.010 Safety
Improvement Program based on the 2018 Bicyclist Safety Improvement Monitoring
(Pilot) Program and the recommendations address the identified issues along the
corridor location.

This project will improve roadway lighting, install green bike lane treatments, and
enhance the visibility of crosswalks. The project will also improve bicycle signage
throughout the project limit and install a two-stage turn queue box for bike turning
movement at multiple locations for additional bicycle safety.

In addition, the proposed work includes installing pedestrian hybrid beacons at midblock
crossings between Truckee Road and River Drive (PM 76.3), Brockway Avenue
and Blue Lake Avenue (PM 77.0), and Herbert Avenue and Ski Run Boulevard (PM
79.1). A full signalized intersection will be installed at Johnson Avenue (PM 78.8).
Bicyclists operate as both vehicles and pedestrians, in most environments, depending
on the context, rider abilities, availability, quality, and efficiency of the facilities. This
